Rachel’s Story

“At POTS Care, instead of masking symptoms, all data is taken from my daughter to provide an elegant and specific solution.”

Rachel came to POTS Care after struggling with her illness for 2 years. Her diagnoses included POTS, dry eyes, strabismus, IBS, EDS, and psychosis. Rachel also suffered from depression and anxiety. Identifying the underlying cause of her POTS was critical in identifying the cause of her personality changes, allowing effective treatment for both.

**Two weeks after coming to POTS Care, Rachel’s mother shares the following: In the last 48 hours, Rachel has been talking more often, and instead of “yes” or “no” is using more complex phrases and sentences. There is little to no psychotic behavior. They are still short responses, but an improvement! The anxiety has dropped significantly and she reports almost daily feeling “calm”. She sleeps in during the morning hours, and this has not happened for months. She also reports ZERO stomach pain, which is good news and I don’t know when the last time was that she reported “zero”. Rachel is picking up books again and is showing an interest in reading! This has not been the case for years, as I assume her vision has not made for a pleasant reading experience. We are very pleased with the results so far. I know that time has to run its course but it is so relieving to see natural healing take place.

INTERVIEWER: You have been through a lot in your journey. Can you tell us a little bit about your illness, what it has been like and how it has affected your life so far?

PATIENT: It is heartbreaking, harrowing, debilitating.

INTERVIEWER: Do you feel that the care you received at POTS Care was different than previous care?

PATIENT: Yes! It was more individualized.

INTERVIEWER: Were we able to identify any underlying problems that others have missed?

PATIENT: Definitely. The flushing, eye problems, stomach, and endothelial problems are all issues that you identified.

INTERVIEWER: Do you feel like we are using real science here?

PATIENT’S MOTHER: Definitely. Instead of masking symptoms, all data is taken from my daughter to provide an elegant and specific solution.

INTERVIEWER: That’s great! What would you like to say to the folks considering coming to POTS Care?

PATIENT: They should definitely do it. It is especially great to talk to a doctor who really understands how you feel.

INTERVIEWER: Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, Rachel.
